A2B

Privacy Policy

What A2B collects, why, and how to have it deleted.

Who this is about

A2B is a service for finding a way from one place to another in the Philippines. This page describes what the A2B application stores about you and what it does with it. A2B is the operator; no other company is involved in running it.

Signing in

A2B has no passwords. You sign in either by asking for a link sent to your email address, or — where it is switched on — with Facebook.

Email sign-in stores your email address. Facebook sign-in stores what Facebook returns for the permissions it asks for, which are public_profile and email: an account identifier, a name, and an email address where Facebook provides one. A2B never receives your Facebook password, and asks for no other permission — it cannot read your posts, friends or activity.

A2B keeps its own record of which sign-in methods reach your account, so that adding one later attaches to the same account rather than creating a second one.

Your account

A display name, and optionally an avatar image, a phone number, your language and timezone. Whether you want occasional A2B news by email is a separate choice you can change in your settings; trip and safety emails are always sent.

Places, and how precisely they are shared

When you describe a Trip or publish a Way, A2B stores where it starts and ends. The exact coordinates are held in a separate, private table that only you can read.

What other travellers can see is a deliberately coarse version — an area roughly a kilometre across — and nothing more precise, until you accept a connection with someone. Your contact details are never shown before that either.

A2B also stores what you said you are moving, how many seats or items are involved, when you want to leave and how long you can wait, because matching a Trip to a Way reads exactly those things.

Connections and messages

When you and another traveller connect, A2B stores that connection and the messages you exchange through it, so that both of you can read the conversation.

Searching for a place

Place search runs against A2B’s own copy of OpenStreetMap data. What you type is used to look up a place and is not sold, shared or used to build a profile of you.

Place search and the locations A2B stores are derived from © OpenStreetMap contributors, used under the Open Database License.

Who else sees any of this

A2B does not sell your data and does not share it for advertising. Other travellers see only what is described above, and only what the connection you accepted makes visible.

A2B runs on services that necessarily handle data on its behalf: Supabase stores the database and files, Vercel serves the application, and Resend delivers the sign-in emails A2B sends. If you sign in with Facebook, Meta knows you did — that is inherent in using it to sign in.

Payments

A2B processes no payments and holds no money. An amount shown on a Way is a figure the provider stated; anything you agree to pay is arranged directly between you and them, and A2B stores no card or bank details.

How long it is kept

Your data is kept while your account exists. There is no automatic expiry, and A2B does not claim a retention period it does not enforce.

Deleting it

Email privacy@a2bph.com and ask for your account to be deleted. What that removes is set out in full on the Data Deletion page.

Changes

If what A2B collects changes, this page changes with it. It describes the application as it is now, not as it is planned to be.
